Marked by its iconic and historic water tower, Campbell, once a small outcropping of sawmill owner William Campbell’s land for orchards, has joined its Silicon Valley neighboring cities in becoming a bustling social hub for the local community.

Campbell is well-know for its consistently high ranking schools, with both Campbell Union school unions being some of the best in the Bay Area. True to its roots, Westmont High School is one of the few California schools remaining offering the Future Farmer’s Association, a historic student organization focusing on preparing students for careers in California’s booming agriculture industry.

What It’s Like To Live In Campbell

Campbell is the little orchard city that was swallowed up by the expanding metropolis of San Jose, and is comprised mostly of residential neighborhoods and retail shopping plazas. The Pruneyard, an iconic Silicon Valley landmark and neighborhood favorite shopping center featuring the famous Pruneyard Towers, appeases a wide audience with grocery stores, restaurants, a newly renovated movie theater, hotel, and even a local brewery.

The Campbell community is mostly outdoor, with families soaking up some California sunshine at the city’s numerous local parks and trails. Both the Campbell community center, a high school purchased by the city that now offers recreation classes and features a track and even a skateboarding park, as well as the Los Gatos Creek trail are local favorites. And if that’s not for you, there’s always a game of pick-up basketball at Campbell Park.

Campbell locals often gather in the city’s historic downtown, recently populated with a variety of restaurants, bars and specialty shops; creating an entertaining experience like none other. The downtown district also plays host to community celebrations year-round and weekly farmer’s markets, retaining the quaint charm of the city’s “small town” origins.
